How to come to Chez Clément from Wavre, Louvain-la-Neuve or Walloon Brabant?

Henri and Sidonie Clément opened the “Bruyère à la Croix” coaching inn in 1858 at the crossroads of the Wavre, Brussels, Charleroi and Namur routes, precisely the same corridor that today's drivers use. Five generations later, Marie and Gilles Verleyen continue the family thread. Chef Vincent Frédéric De Laloy has been in the kitchen since 1996, with a brigade of thirty-two delivering 200 to 300 covers per service.

For Louvain-la-Neuve visitors, particularly the academic community and the corporate base around the UCLouvain campus, the brasserie is a useful business-lunch venue. It is open seven days a week, with lunch service from noon to 2:30 p.m., dinner from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and a continuous bar from noon to 1 a.m. The conservatory can host private group meetings, subject to availability. The brasserie serves more than 1,400 covers a week with a 230-seat main hall.
