Does Chez Clément host weddings?

Weddings are one of the major event uses of Brasserie Chez Clément. The house has been in existence since 1858 and has carried five generations of the Clément-Verleyen family; it has also carried the wedding of its current owners. Marie and Gilles Verleyen, at the head of the brasserie since 2021 under J and JJ Brasserie SA, celebrated their own marriage in the conservatory of the brasserie. It is a detail that says a lot about the attachment of the fifth generation to this place, and it makes the conservatory a particularly meaningful space for celebrations.

The house offers partial privatisation tailored to each celebration. Total capacity is 230 seated and up to 250 in standing or cocktail mode. The available spaces are several: the main dining room, the luminous conservatory, the distinct bar, and the terrace in season. Chef Vincent Frédéric De Laloy (in the house since 1996, brigade of thirty-two) designs menus tailored to the celebration, in the everything-made-in-house philosophy that characterises the brasserie.

The logistical advantage is considerable. The gigantic free car park directly opposite the brasserie, ten metres from the entrance, removes the parking question for guests. Wheelchair accessibility is total (entrance, dining room, bathrooms). Genval railway station on SNCB line 161 (Brussels-Namur) is a ten-to-fifteen-minute walk from the door for guests arriving by train. From Brussels city centre, allow about twenty-five minutes by car via the Ring R0; from the south-east of Brussels, fifteen to eighteen minutes; from Wavre, twelve minutes; from Waterloo, fifteen minutes.

The brief lets the team work through the variables: number of guests, preferred configuration (seated, standing, mixed), preferred space (conservatory, dining room, terrace), date, menu, type of entertainment. Given the total capacity (230 seated, 250 for a private event), the house can absorb both an intimate wedding and a large-scale celebration.
